Obituary

Bilic, Paula passed away peacefully at the Chapman House, Owen Sound, on Saturday, October 18 ,2025, 86 years old.

Predeceased by her husband Dominic Bilic.

Loving mother to Tony Bilic and spouse Marj Falk

Survived by her sister Karin Scholich of Germany.

Predeceased by her parents, Paula and Karl Schellhorn, and by her sister, Rosa Buttner of Germany.

Paula came to Canada from Germany when she was 17 years old.  She met Dominic and married.  In 1972 they moved to Port Elgin and became owners of New Fairway Park Campground.  Paula enjoyed running the campground, meeting lots of people every year.  She had around 160 seasonal campers.  She would have new customers come in and they remembered camping there when they were kids. They would tell her how much they enjoyed coming there so they decided to bring their kids there to go camping.

She retired in 2018 when the park was sold.

Paula will be sadly missed by her family, campground families and friends.

The family would like to say a big thank you to Dr. Marriott, Dr Chapman and all the nurses and staff that helped organize her stay at the Chapman House.  Thank you also for making Paula’s stay there comfortable for her. You are amazing.

To honour Paula’s wishes, there will be no celebration of life or funeral service.
