Service Summary

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held January 18th, 2026 at the Southampton Legion from 1-4pm. Feel free to come pay your respects, have some light snacks, sandwiches, non-alcoholic drinks and mingle with friends and family and partake in some activities.

Obituary

Sandra Higgins, passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital in London, ON surrounded by family at the age of 74. Proud mother of Shawn (Janine) and Cory (Shannon). Extremely proud grandmother to Emily, Persephone, Linkoln, and Henri. Remembered by family, Dan, Janice, Betty (Doug) and their families. Dear sister in-law Leonard (Heather) and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband to Frank Higgins, her parents Frances & William Ladd, and by sisters, Sharon and Sheila.

Sandra was quiet and passive although not to be messed with, had a heart of gold loving her family and friends. She was strong in surviving a bout with Breast Cancer and dealing with heart issues since. She was stubborn in not seeking help from family or friends with any health concerns saying she was always fine even when she wasn’t. She may have been Southampton born, but was an islander at heart.

Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Cancer Society are encouraged in lieu of flowers or any gifts.

Please note that a service/celebration will also be held in Norris Arm, Newfoundland later this spring/summer when we bring Sandra to be reunited with the love of her life for over 50 years, Frank
