Obituary

Burton, Albert George, passed away at the Southampton Hospital on Sunday October 26, 2025 at the age of 83. Albert was born in Twillingate, NFLD. He moved to Toronto in his early 20’s and began a career as an optician at Braddock Optical in Toronto. 

Loving father of daughter Carolyn and her husband Jamie Copeland and son Gregory Burton and his wife Michelle. Proud grandfather of Austin Copeland, Brienna Ensing (Stewart Ensing), Joshua Burton (Monique Poirier), and Jake Burton. 

Fondly remembered by his former wife Bernice Clarke. niece Gail Mitchell (Clarence Mitchell), and nephew Craig Clarke (Judy Clarke), and by his great nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and George Burton, sister Margret Clarke and brother-in-law, Bert Clarke.

Al was a resident for over 3 years at Southampton Care Centre, where he was given exceptional care, loved by many, and treated like he was part of their family. 

Al was a quiet man who loved his family dearly. His greatest passions in life were cheering on his Blue Jays and Maple Leafs, being a lover of all animals, especially his buddies Max and Marbles, as well as his love of poker for which he would tell anyone who would listen that he was pretty darn good!
