Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debora ‘Deb’ Brunato on October 9, 2025, at Toronto General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Deb was 70 years old.

Beloved wife of Joe Brunato, Deb was the heart of her family.  A devoted mother to Stephanie Brunato, and to Rob Brunato and his wife Trista. She was a proud and adoring Grandma to Oli and Charli, who brought immense joy to her life.

She was a caring sister-in-law to Franco and Anne-Marie Brunato, and a cherished friend to many.

Deb was an avid quilter who spent many happy hours in her sewing room creating beautiful pieces with care. She also enjoyed knitting and working in her gardens every year. She was a wonderful cook who passed that love on to her children. For Deb and her family, every celebration was centred around a meal. The table was a place for sharing, laughter, stories, and connection.

She will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, her kindness, and the generous way she cared for others. Deb had a special way of making people feel welcome and appreciated. Her presence brought comfort, joy, and light to everyone lucky enough to know her.

A casual come and go gathering to celebrate Deb’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 630 Green Street, Port Elgin on November 7 between 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. No formal speaking will occur.

A private interment of her ashes will take place at Sanctuary Park Cemetery in Port Elgin.

She will be missed more than words can say and remembered with love always.
