Frances Towner

Obituary

Passed away peacefully at home in Southampton, Ontario on December 18, 2025 surrounded by family and friends in her 87^th year. Fran was born in Hamilton, Ontario on December 30, 1938 to Alfred and Alma Swan.

She is survived by her loving husband Bruce and his children Christopher and his wife Selena and their children Charis & Isabelle, and his daughter Lindsay.  Also survived by a wonderful brother-in-law Robert (Lorna).

Predeceased by her parents Alfred & Alma, and by sisters-in-law Susan and Shirley and her husband William.

Fran had many wonderful experiences in her 86 years of life. She loved playing golf both here and in Florida. Enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, camping and going on many cruises.  She was a Canadian Figure Skating judge, and a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Laureate Epsilon Nu chapter in Port Elgin, Ontario. Bruce and Fran had a mobile home in Ponderosa Park, Hudson, Florida. They made many close friends as well in Florida.

Special thanks to her amazing friend Bett for being there during her 14-year battle with Breast Cancer.

Cremation has taken place.

Donations to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
