Margaret Mary Jackson (née Lyver)

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Jackson (née Lyver), beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, on Wednesday, October 29th at the age of 88.

Margaret was born on September 13, 1937 in Harricott, Newfoundland. She grew up in Newfoundland before moving to Toronto, Ontario in 1964 where she built a life filled with love, family, and faith. Margaret dedicated her life to her family, they were her greatest joy.

She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, strength, and faith, and for the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her. Her family will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Margaret is lovingly remembered by her daughter Julie and son-in-law Jon, and by her cherished granddaughters Carolyn and Elizabeth. She is survived by her siblings Josephine, Andrew Lyver (Madeline), Mary, Nicholas, Calvin (Laurie), and Joan (Barry). She was predeceased by her husband Robert Jackson, her parents Patrick and Maude Lyver, and her brother Patrick (Rita).

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 1^st, 2025, at 11 am. The mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church in Southampton, Ontario. Interment to follow immediately after the funeral.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Food Bank, a cause close to her heart.

The family would like to thank their friends and loved ones for their care and support. They extend their deepest gratitude to the palliative care team—especially nurses Chantal and Cindy, and Dr. Christopher—for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion they showed to Margaret and her family during her final weeks at home. The family would also like to thank all the PSWs who provided such attentive care and support during her final weeks. We will be forever grateful for the kindness of both friends and strangers.

Margaret will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
