Obituary

Edwards, Eleanor Joy (née Booth) – longtime resident and active volunteer in Southampton since 1975 passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025 in Barrie Ontario.

Born in Russell Ontario on September 1, 1929, she was in her 97th year living in her independent living retirement home in Barrie. After retirement from elementary school teaching in Weston/Toronto she and her husband Bill Edwards retired in 1982 to Southampton.

Eleanor’s mother and grandparents came from the Wiarton area, and she had a love for Pioneer antiques, both of which, drew her attention to the Bruce County Museum, where she became greatly involved in fundraising. Her other true love and enjoyment came from being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
