John William Eagleson passed away unexpectedly at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Campus, on December 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in his 69th year. He was a cherished husband and companion to Crystal (née Graham) and a proud father of Johnathan (Kristin) of London and Sterling (Cindy) of Southampton. As a devoted poppa, he will be dearly remembered by George, Grace, Charlotte, and Parker.

John’s absence will be felt deeply by his siblings Frank (Doris), Paul (Jennifer), and Ann (Stan), and fond memories will remain with his nieces and nephews: Shannon, Philip (Jodi), Chad (Jodi), Peter (Rachel), Quinn, and Cara Beth (Robert). His great-nieces and nephews—William and Aleigha, Hudsen, Nash and Cooper, Peyton and Harper—were also close to his heart.

Brother-in-law to Sherry, Patty (Dwayne), Jacalene (Mark) and uncle to Shannon, Kate, Marley and Sierra.

John was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Margaret Eagleson, and his brother Peter.

Having been a partner at Eagleson Furniture and Funeral Home before joining Bruce Power, John retired to enjoy life in Southampton, especially on the Lane where he took joy in nurturing and watching his family flourish. An artist at heart, he transformed Lake Huron driftwood into captivating sculptures and crafted specialty cutting boards, which he sold from his garage while relaxing to Bluegrass music.

John’s creative spirit was remarkable, and he contributed to his community as a Southampton Councillor. He took pride in being part of the St Lawrence Masonic Lodge #131 and founding the Clowns at Bruce Shrine Club, delighting many as Beaker the Clown. He leaves behind a legacy among friends in the community, workplace, and in Barbados, and will be warmly remembered by cousins in the Eagleson, MacGregor, and Graham families.

A Funeral Service to Celebrate John’s life will be held at the Southampton United Church on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 11am. Cremation will follow.

An opportunity to share memories will follow the service at the Walker House, Southampton, from 1p.m. – 4 p.m. Family invite you to come to both gatherings or to the one of your preference.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children OR to support his grandsons coat drive known as “George’s Jackets” you may bring a lightly used adult winter jacket to the gatherings that will be donated to the less fortunate in London, Ontario.
