Obituary

Patricia Louise Pletsch (née Little)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Louise Pletsch peacefully at the Family Cottage, her Happy Place.

Pat is the loving wife of John Pletsch for 58 years. Together they shared many adventures and were always each others biggest supporters and advocates. She is the much loved mother of Susan (Mike) Ball and Mandy (Steve) Ketchum, and a very enthusiastic and involved grandmother to Kathleen, Sarah, Justin, and Claire. She will be greatly missed by her brothers Peter (Anne) Little, Bruce (Dianne) Little, and her sisters-in-law Karen Thompson and Cathy Kowaleski, along with many extended family members and friends. Pat is predeceased by her parents, Peter and Fern Little, her in-laws, Morgan and Myrtle Pletsch, her brother Jim Little, her brother-in-law Gary Thompson and sister-in-law Sharon Little.

Pat enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including cooking, baking, gardening, traveling, reading, and quilting. Her love for family and her ability to make those around her feel welcome and cared for will be remembered by all who knew her.

Pat was an active participant in her condo community, always looking for ways to make a difference. Pat volunteered her time to several organizations including the Canadian Cancer Society, the Parkinson’s Society and The Community Food Advisory Group. She was also a Girl Guide Leader and a parent volunteer when her girls were in school.

While Pat faced many medical challenges during her life, her priority was always living life to its fullest. She took an active role in medical research, contributing her time and experiences to help others and advance the understanding and treatment of Parkinson’s Disease.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Little, Dr. Jog, and the many PSWs, Nurses, and Therapists who provided care and support to Pat.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at later date. If desired, a donation in Pat’s memory may be made to The Parkinson’s Society.
