Penny Hodgkins (née Letheren) With heavy hearts and deep love we announce that Penny Hodgkins passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Southampton Hospital on Sunday February 15, 2026 at the age of 57.

She was a loving wife to Robert and wonderful mom to Tyler. She was a cherished sister of Holly Letheren and Laurie (Gordon) Letheren. She will be lovingly remembered by Arlene’s partner Wilford Mitchell, her father in-law Don Hodgkins, and his partner, April, and her brothers-in-law Barry (Patricia) Hodgkins and Bill Hodgkins. She was “cool Aunt Pen” to her nephews and nieces, and she was a wonderful friend to many, who will all miss her dearly.

Predeceased by her mother Arlene Letheren (née Knowles), her father Richard Letheren, and by her mother-in-law Rubina Hodgkins.

She touched the lives of many, and children in particular, through her work as an Occupational Therapist and this work brought her great pride and joy.

Penny’s smile could light up a room or a beach gathering. She will be remembered for her big beautiful generous heart and her fun loving personality. It is her spark and warmth that we all now hold in our hearts.

Cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate the life of Penny will be held this summer.
