Obituary

Weatherall, Ada Marjorie (nee Metheral) passed away at the Owen Sound Hospital on Saturday February 26, 2022 at the age of 78, after a brave battle with cancer.  The family would like to thank her healthcare professionals for their dedicated, empathetic support, including Dr. Sandhu (Oncologist), Dr. Gibb (GP), Dr. Chapman (Palliative), and the VON.

Ada was born in Creemore and raised in Dunedin, Ontario.  She married in 1965 and raised two children.  Ada was known for her quick laugh, loving spirit and strong will, as well as her unwavering dedication to family and friends.  She held a special place in her heart for children and animals.

Ada served as Office Manager at Saugeen Shores Police Service for over 22 years. Some of her favourite pastimes were gardening, quilting, baking, cross-country skiing, biking and travel. Ada was active in the community, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and serving as an elder and member of the Tolmie Presbyterian Church Women’s (PCW) group.

Beloved wife of Thomas Wayne Weatherall. Loving mother to Sandra (Keith) Whitham and Bradley (Michelle) Weatherall. Proud Nana of Matthew, Adam, and Kadin. Remembered by her sisters, Jacquline (the late Stanley) Ritchie and Marilyn (Allan) Buie, and by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Sherlock & Marjorie Metheral.

Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Creemore Union Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Tolmie Presbyterian Church.
