In Loving Memory of Donna Louise Bell

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Donna Louise Bell (MacKay), aged 90, of Southampton.

A beacon of kindness and humor, Mom was known for her kind heart, generosity and resilience. Her presence brought warmth and joy to everyone she met. She loved to sing, give joy to others, play games,  garden, quilt, walk, and spend time with her family, friends and fur-friends.

Donna was born on July 30, 1934, in Underwood, Ontario, and lived a life full of love, laughter, giving, and dedication. She passed away on September 3, 2024, at the age of 90.

She was a devoted mom to: Shirley Taylor, Lorne Bell (who predeceased her in 2007) and his wife Barb, Louise Chamberlain and Yvonne Bell (husband Sean Jackson). She was a cherished grandmother to six grandchildren: Ryan, Justin, Josh, Kyle, Matthew, and Alex, and a beloved great-grandmother to: Irelyn, Callie, Rowan, and Iris. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life.   She is predeceased by her Father, Murray MacKay, her mother Louise MacKay, her brothers Keith MacKay and Donald MacKay.

Mom’s legacy is one of caring, genuiness, and resilience. She touched the lives of many with her loyalty, laugher, and selflessness. Her family and friends will forever remember her for the immense impact she had on their lives, her love, her humour, love of animals, and her many sacrifices for her family and friends.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return. Her light will continue to shine brightly in our lives as she is “our sunshine.”

Donna will be buried at the Tiverton Cemetery and there will be a private family celebration in October.

Donations to the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society are welcome in her loving memory.

Let’s honour her legacy by living our lives with the same love and kindness that she exemplified every day.
