Henry, Loretta Lynn ‘Jiikwewis’

In the 6th hour of the 10th day of the Thimbleberry Moon 2022. Loretta Lynn Henry began her journey to the spirit world with honour, dignity, and compassion. Jiikwewis continued to show care, kindness and extend virtues of life giver to family and caretakers during her time of transition. Being the daughter of the Chickedee Woman, Granddaughter of Southern Cloud Woman and Great Granddaughter of Sarah Sissenah of Sagamok. She walked life lessons of daughter, sister, niece, cousin, mother, grandmother. From Saugeen First Nation, Loretta is honoured from the families of Russell and Gladys Henry. She is known to be a great friend and confidant to all walks of life in Meaford, Owen Sound, Sarnia, Sagamok, and Kitchener. Loretta celebrated the gifts of life through the culinary arts, by cooking and creating, creating beautiful works of art through painting, poetry and playing the guitar. She is well known for her wise words and guidance to those lives deeply touched with her spiritual connection to the natural world.

Sadly missed by her sons Nathan, Daniel, Jordan, Tanner and Jakob, and by her grandchildren Teagan, Donovan Brandon and Alayna Kylie Shaylynn Rayne Mia and Milo. Dear sister Sonja George and Candace Henry. Survived by her uncles, her aunts, Rita Jacobs, Diane Ritchie, Sharon Solomon, Glenna Cameron, Sherry Ritchie, Kathy Ritchie, Fran Ritchie, and, and by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Predeceased by her daughter Sarah Henry, mother Virginia Henry, sister Jennifer Henry, and aunts Verna Henry and Geraldine Partridge

A Funeral Service for Loretta Henry will be held at the James Mason Memorial Recreation Centre, Saugeen First Nation on Monday August 15, 2022 at 1 p.m.
