Obituary

Margaret Elizabeth Eagleson (nee MacGregor) passed away peacefully with the love of her families at her side at Southampton Care Center Wednesday May 29th 2024 in her 94 year. Beloved wife of late Gordon (2005). Marg and Gordon moved to Southampton in 1953. They were the founders of the Eagleson Furniture and Funeral home. They enjoyed their life in Southampton raising their family and watching it grow. She was very involved in the community helping others. Marg was a founding member of the Chantry Island Chambettes, also a dedicated member of the United Church Women and the Eastern Star. Marg’s love for curling led to her to many years of enjoyment as a long time member of the Southampton Curling Club.

Marg will be greatly missed by her children Frank (Doris), Paul (Jennifer), John (Crystal), Ann (Stan).

Cherished grandmother of Shannon, Philip (Jodi), Chad (Jodi), Peter (Rachel), Quinn, Johnathan (Kristin), Cara Beth (Robert) and Sterling (Cindy).

Proud GG of her 10 great grandchildren William and Aleigha, Hudsen, Nash, and Cooper, Peyton and Harper, George, Grace and Charlotte.

Fondly remembered by many special nieces and nephews.

Great peace will be found knowing she will finally be reunited with her son Peter (1961) who she suffered his loss immensely.

Marg is also predeceased by her parents William & Caroline Elizabeth MacGregor, 13 siblings, and many loved in-laws.

Marg was a wonderful mother who enjoyed her family and helping out with every aspect of their lives. She was meticulous in keeping things tidy and organized. Her talents and skills in the kitchen where impeccable. Her creativity was such a talent. Her wit and humour never left her. She was never afraid to give advice, like it or not.

Special thank you to the staff at Southampton Care Center for the wonderful care and the love and friendship they provided during her stay.

Visitation will be held at Eagleson Funeral Home Southampton, on Sunday June 2nd from 1-4 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Eagleson Funeral Home, on Monday June 3rd, 2024, at 2 pm. Interment will take place after the service at Southampton Cemetery.

Followed by a light reception including Marg’s Famous Butter Tarts in the family centre of the funeral home.
