Pisko, Milan, M.A., M.Ed.

Milan died in peace of Congestive Heart Failure at his Southampton home with family close by.

He leaves a legacy of happy memories for his beloved wife Ann (nee Blair) and their children, Laura Pisko (Don Warrington) of Toronto; Jane (Mark Sartori) of Windsor; David (Jennifer) of Windsor; and Sara (Jeff Robinson) of Port Credit,  and three grandchildren,  Geoffrey Bezruchko of London, England; Melissa Bezruchko (partner Harrison) of Venice Beach, California; and Devin Robinson (partner Lilia) of Hamilton.  Milan will be greatly missed by Ann’s sister and brother-in-law,  Mary and Gary Brooks and their family in Ottawa.

Milan was born in Montreal and raised in Kirkland Lake by his late parents Joseph and Annie Pisko. Milan’s career in education began as a teacher in a one room school in northern Ontario followed by elementary and secondary classrooms in Windsor; Department Head of Geography at Walkerville CI; and Vice Principal of several secondary schools before his retirement in 1991.

Milan was a past president of the French Bay Beach Association and the Southampton Lawn Bowling Club.  He was a long-time curler and member of Probus and St. Paul’s Anglican Church.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday February 3 at 12 noon at St. Paul’s Church, Southampton.  At 11 a.m., the Family will receive condolences in adjoining Bevan Hall.  A lunch will follow the church service.

Memorial donations can be made to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada or your favourite charity.
