Pauline Leonard

Obituary

We are sad to announce the passing Pauline Leonard at the age of 94 on Tuesday March 16th, 2021 in Southampton, Ontario. Loving wife of 46 years to the late Hugh “Paddy” Leonard and mother to Larry Leonard (Katherine). Sadly missed by granddaughters Charlotte and Tricia (Kris) and great grandchildren Kinley, Clara and Ronan.

Pauline was born in Downham Market, England to George Henry Smith and Charlotte Osler. After WWII Pauline met Hugh Leonard while visiting Brighton Beach in the UK. They fell in love and decided to start a life together in Hamilton, Canada where their son Lawrence was born. Pauline and Hugh founded and organized The Battle of Britain Club and chartered Wardair jets to return British Canadians to London for family visits. Pauline enjoyed many winters with Hugh in Barbados and summers tending her beautiful rose garden in Burlington.

For the last 16 years Pauline resided at Hampton Court in Southampton, Ontario. She would often be found in the lounge working on her crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune or participating in the many wonderful activities. A sincere thank you to the staff of Hampton Court for providing such a lovely home for Pauline.  We would also like to thank the caring staff of the Southampton Hospital for their support during these difficult times.

Pauline joins her beloved Paddy just in time to celebrate St. Patricks Day.

May she Rest In Peace.
