STEVE MILKOVICH – Forever Wild and Free
Steve passed away peacefully with Danielle by his side at the Huron Shore Hospice in Tiverton on October 11, 2026, at the age of 47.
Born in St. Catherines on December 1, 1978, to parents Carole Shinners (nee Roseman) and Joe Milkovich. Joining his brothers Chris (Nicole) and Andrew (Kristie) to create a brotherly bond like no other. The three of them shared a twisted sense of humor with a shock factor that had you laughing for hours. He was a wonderful Son-in-Law to Bev and Roxy, a “best friend” to Becki (Jordan) and uncle to Drew, Brooke and Brodie.
Steve grew up on the farm in Pelham where he fell in love with animals, especially his dog Duke. He went to school in Fenwick and Fonthill, the education was less important to Steve, it was the friendships he made that kept his attendance.
Steve had a passion for music, especially his bass guitar. He enjoyed jamming with his brother and friends. His sound was influenced by one of his favourite bands Primus. He began skateboarding and snowboarding when he was 12. His passion for jet skiing started in his mid 20’s, he called himself Lance Lakes. He was most proud of the barrel rolls and back flips he could do, along with the power his ski had from him modifying the motor.
It was in 2008 that he met the love of his life, Danielle Angel. From the moment they met they were inseparable. They moved to Paisley in 2011 with their dog Dakota, buying a house with the thought of it being a temporary flip but they fell in love with the town and the people and could never imagine moving. Over the years Steve transformed the house into a home that he was so proud of, all the details and unique touches demonstrate how talented and creative he was.
Together Steve and Danielle shared a passion for travel, whether it was by bike or down south to a sunny beach. Steve loved loading the bike up and taking Danielle on a long haul. They rode north (Wawa, ON), south (Robbinsville, NC), east (Perce, QC), and west (Devils Tower, WY). As much as he loved taking off on these adventures just the two of them, Steve also enjoyed the group rides and laughs that came along with those special friends. One of his most favourite trips was heading to his “homeland” Croatia for their 15-year anniversary. The love they shared will continue through all the memories they created.
Remember Steve for his humor, adventurous spirit and big heart. Know that he is free and enjoying the open road.
Join us to remember Steve at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 295, 338 Goldie St. Paisley, on Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm, with words of remembrance at 2:00pm. Come and go, casual attire only, Steve hated dressing up.
Memorial donations to Huron Shores Hospice are appreciated.
