After battling cancer Denis passed peacefully at the age of 69 in the Southampton hospital.
To know Denis was to love him. His effervescence for life showed up in all he did. He was a true gentleman, and a friend to all he met. Denis always had an anecdote for anyone willing to lend an ear, and he loved to make people laugh beyond all else.
Denis worked for 33 years at Tycos tool & die, while also co-owning the Bluewater. When he wasn’t working he was often found biking in town, or visiting Armen’s cafe.
His charm and charisma was notable to everyone he met. If ever you needed help, Denis would be there without question.
Denis is survived by his wife of 48 years Barbara ‘Babs’, his daughters Samantha (Brian), Aimee (Joe) and his grandson Hendrix John. His sister Jean Bryant, nieces-Georgia, Cheryl, Anita & Robert. Nephews-Jesse, Reid, Dean and great niece and nephews. Brother-in-law to Susan, Christopher & Rachel, and Paul & Lynn.
We’d like to also express our gratitude to all the nurses and doctors at Southampton hospital, and community care nurses for their exceptional kindness.
A special mention to Dr. Kelly Fenn, Dr. Bock and Dr. Marriot for their compassion and care throughout Denis’s treatment.
We hope to have a celebration of life in the summer to raise a glass for Denis.
If desired expressions of sympathy may be made to Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
