Obituary

Davenport, Glenn Austin, on Sunday June 27th, 2021, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, peacefully amidst the love and support of his family, after a courageous battle with Cancer. Glenn Davenport of Allenford in his 76th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Margaret Davenport (nee Draper) of Allenford. Proud father of Mark and his wife Robyn and Todd and his wife Christine, both of Allenford. Dotting and loving grandfather of Jordyn (Chad), Hailey (Kevin), Taylor (Zac), Joshua and Brooklyn.

Cherished brother of Lois and her husband Ted Horton of Presquille. Dear brother-in-law of Jim Neath of Owen Sound and William and Grace Draper of Victoria B. C. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, by his friends of the community, his staff and by his business acquaintances worldwide. He will be sadly missed by his ever-present shadow Rosie.  Predeceased by his parents Wilfred “Bill” and Reta Davenport (Boyd) Scott, by his brother John (Margaret), by his in-laws Rahn and Anna Draper (McNally), by his brother-in-law, Robert, and by his sisters-in law, Mary Jane (Ron) Haines, Isabel (Fred) Fisk and Barbara Neath.

Together Glenn and Marg created a thriving family business on the family farm, known as Elmer’s Flighting, a family business that continues to expand. Glenn took great pride in planning and supervising to completion a new facility to accommodate the growing business. Glenn was a Past Master of Burns Lodge #436 A.F. & A.M. Hepworth and a proud supporting member of the Bruce Shrine Club.

Private Family Services, through the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Service will be recorded and available on this webpage when complete. In support of the family a drive thru procession will occur on Wednesday at 2 pm at the new Elmer’s’ Flighting Building 7795 Hwy 21, Allenford. Please join between 1:30 pm – 1:55 pm, parking guidance will be provided by Elmer’s Flighting staff. In keeping with Covid Protocols, friends are welcome to participate from their cars or on their tractors, as the funeral procession circles the new shop.

Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Town of Georgian Bluffs.

Glenn’s family would like to thank London Health Science Centre, CarePartners, Dr. Cipolletti, Dr. Fenn and Dr. Chapman for their care, support and compassion throughout his medical journey.
