Obituary

JUKES Michael, passed away at the Chapman House, Owen Sound on Sunday, November 1, 2026, one week after his 69th birthday. Mike was a devoted past president and long time member of the Southampton Legion Branch #155. Mike did a tremendous amount of work there over the years.

Mike is survived by his older brother Rick, his loving sister-in-law Pam, niece Rikki, partner of 17 years Kelly Cook, and countless friends.

Mike was highly intelligent human, he loved his job as supply chain inspector at Bruce Power and was the go to guy for a lot of coworkers. Michael was a great man and loyal friend. He helped many people over the years. He was very selfless and truly wanted people to thrive and succeed. Mike was also a sensitive soul with a huge heart.

Michael loved what Kelly called the “Garage Mahal”. He always said with his glass wall he felt like he was outside when he was inside. The bunnies squirrels and blue jays would all come to the carport for peanuts, he got a real kick out of it. He tolerated Kelly’s plant addiction and actually embraced it. He understood she had created an ecosystem and marvelled at the colours, the birds, bees, and different butterflies.

Michael had no fear of dying. He said he had a good life, great parents, a job he loved, good friends and good fun.

Mike loved his house, the laneway, the lake, his family and friends, but most of all he loved the Cleveland Browns. He had such fun when him and the boys went to see a game.

There is a hole in many hearts with his passing. We will all remember him with fondness. Mike was a really wonderful man and positively impacted many lives.

Special thanks to all who helped Mike & Kelly during this difficult week. You know who you are. The Chapman House is an extremely special place and Kelly asks that you consider donations to them to help others like Michael pass with dignity and comfort.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
