Obituary

REID, Murray, passed away peacefully at the Parkview Manor on Saturday, September 16th, 2023 at the age of 80.  Loving husband to Thea (nee Bauland) Reid and father to Kevin (Michelle).  Pre-deceased by his son Brad, sister Marjorie (Jack) Berry and brother Ernie (Sandy) Reid.   Fondly missed by his cat Pokie, and grandpups Maggie& T.

Murray was born in Toronto and his family moved to Guelph when he was ten years old.   He continued to live in Guelph where he married Thea and they raised their children.  Murray and Thea recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.  They retired to Southampton in 2015 where they have enjoyed time with their friends and community.  Murray was a character known for his love of animals, sports, playing pool and his wonderfully delicious baked goods.

Murray will be cremated with a Celebration of Life at the Port Elgin Missionary Church, 650 Green St, Port Elgin, on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 1:00pm.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Port Elgin Missionary Church or The Alzheimer’s Society of Grey Bruce.
