Orion Kahgee
June 23, 1985 – September 29, 2026 - Age 41

Obituary

Kahgee, Orion Thomas Alexander, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 41 at the Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. Loving husband to Krista Kahgee (née Grieve). Proud father to Hayden, River, and Reya, and grandfather to Cairo and Amiyah. Dear son to Rosemary Cutbush (née Jerome) and the late Robert Allen Kahgee. Brother to Veronica Marshman, Conan Kahgee-Cutbush, and Kelvin Cutbush.

Predeceased by his grandparents Oliver & Emma Kahgee and John & Rita Jerome.

Orion was a kind and loving person who cared deeply for everyone around him. He had a way of making people feel loved and welcomed, and he was someone who was truly loved by so many.

Above all else, he was an amazing father. He loved his children more than anything in the world and was incredibly proud to be their dad. He was also a stepfather to Hayden, but he never saw him as anything less than his own. He treated Hayden like his own son, loved him like his own, and was his dad.

He took great pride in his work as a welder and loved what he did. He enjoyed joking around with his coworkers and would often come home with stories about his day at work. His coworkers and friends knew him for his humour, his kindness, and the person he was, and he was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

In 2015, he married Krista, the love of his life. Their life together was filled with love, family, laughter, and memories that she will carry with her forever. He was not only her husband, but her best friend and the person she loved most in this world. He will always be the love of her life.

He loved travelling, fishing in the river, and making memories with his family. But some of his happiest moments were the simplest ones—being at home, spending quiet time with his wife and children, and simply being together.

He leaves behind a family who loves him beyond words and a lifetime of memories that will never be forgotten. His absence will be felt every day, but so will the love he gave so freely to those around him.

He will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.

A gathering to remember Orion will be held at the James Mason Memorial Centre, 47 French Bay Road, Saugeen First Nation, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 from 5 PM to 9 PM.
