Obituary

Peter Burton Windsor

Peacefully at the Southampton Hospital in the early hours of Friday May 17, Peter Burton Windsor, at the age of 83.

Survived by his loving wife Arlene. Predeceased by his first wife Alicia (Washburn) and his parents Josephine (Sharman) and Frank Windsor. Peter will be greatly missed by his sons, Brock, and Grant and his wife Gemma. Much loved stepfather of Scott Saunders and his wife Trish, Christine Saunders, and Cheryl Riley and her husband Steve. Grandpa to Freya, Eiji, Elyse, Gwen, Serenity and Andre. Also survived by his sister-in-law Heather Sullivan and her husband John. He will be fondly remembered by his church family, his Masonic brothers, and many friends and extended family.

Peter was born in London, Ontario and was a graduate of McMaster University. He then went on to become a Chartered Accountant, his lifelong career. Upon retiring, his love of Lake Huron and Oliphant brought Peter and Alicia to Southampton. He was a Mason for 55 years and was an active member of the Anglican Church. In his retirement he continued to share his accountancy expertise by being a volunteer treasurer for St. Paul’s Anglican Church and the Chantry Senior’s Centre.

We would like to thank Ted Rivest for being such a good friend and Peter’s pool and cribbage opponent, and to the Day Away Program, Hampton Court, PSW’s, Bruce County Paramedics, and the Southampton Hospital for their exceptional care of Peter.

A service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Southampton on Tuesday, May 21 at 11a.m. to celebrate a life well lived. Luncheon to follow. Masonic service at 10 a.m. A private family internment will be held at the Southampton Cemetery.

Service will be live streamed on the Anglican Regional Ministry of Saugeen Shores, Tara & Chatsworth Facebook page.

Memorial donations to St. Paul’s Anglican Church or the Chantry Senior’s Center would be appreciated by the family.
