In Memory of
Ray McArthur
December 4, 1962 – November 10, 2023 - Age 60

Obituary

Unexpectedly, just shy of his 61st birthday, Raymond Murray McArthur, “Skinner”, passed away November 10 in Bayfield, Ontario. Loving and devoted father to Courtney (Michael) Bridge, Caitlin (Kurtis) Kealey, Carly (Cory) Rosner, and RaeAnn (Hayden) Burke. Incredibly proud Grandpa Ray to Cassandra, Blake, Corbin, Hannah, Sawyer, Ruby, Camryn and Andrew. Beloved Son of Murray (Lynda) McArthur.  Dear Brother to Janice (Andy) Turcotte and Kim (Bob) Ball. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, lifetime friends, and all his many four-legged friends. Predeceased by his mother Trena McArthur, Brother Don and In-laws Helen and Doug Huber.

Skinner’s happiest days were spent among family and friends.  He cared deeply for those important in his life and had a huge heart.  He would do anything for anyone.

Ray was a fisherman with a lifelong affair with water and the outdoors.  His obsession with fishing started at a young age at the Port Elgin and Southampton harbours.

More recently, his passion was his grandchildren – teaching them all about fishing and loving them unconditionally. Especially his #1 fan, Corbin, who aspires to be just like him.

Please join us in saying Goodbye to Skinner

A Service for Ray will be held in the chapel of the Eagleson Funeral Home on Friday November 17, 2023 at 3 p.m. with visiting from 2pm until 3pm. A Gathering to Celebrate the Life of Ray will follow at the Southampton Golf Club, 400 North Rankin St. Southampton, on Friday from 4:30-8 p.m. Anyone is welcome to attend both events or the one of your preference, and also casual attire.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Southampton Snowmobile Club or to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
