Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tanya ‘Dimoya’ Day, in her 57th year. Tanya will be deeply missed by her daddy Melvin, and her brothers Gene (Anna), Ephriam, Roddy, and by her beloved nieces, Delian (Cody) and Sarah (KC), they were known as her ‘nibblets’ and they were her life, she loved them with all her heart.

Tanya’s memory will also be cherished by her Auntie/Sister Colleen Kahgee ‘Beebee’, uncle Eugene Kahgee ‘Boy’, Auntie Cindy, her very special cousin Marianne Freeman Kahgee (Shayne), cousins Jazzmyn (Carlos), Angel, Kyle, Faith, and Alvy Day. Tanya will also be remembered by many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Tanya has gone to be with her Saviour Jesus Christ, her beloved mommy Catherine, Mom Vierra, Dad Edison, auntie’s Cheryl, Sylvia and Josie, uncles Ephriam and Harry, and by her cousin Mark.

Tanya worked for many years as a legal assistant in Hamilton and Toronto. She loved this job and was very proficient at it. She held many interests, including going to many concerts with BeeBee, travelling both locally and internationally with her mommy and Beebee. She loved painting, gardening, visiting art museums, and photography. She read the Bible daily, she was our little “Holy Roller”. Most importantly, family was her life, especially her nieces Delian and Sarah, they were her everything, her babies.

Tanya will always be lovingly remembered by us all and missed beyond belief. Baamaapii Tanya xoxo.

Visitation at the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton on Sunday September 20, 2026 from 6 PM to 9 PM. A Service for Tanya Day will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment to follow at the French Bay Cemetery, Saugeen First Nation.
