Obituary

Nashkawa, Wayne (1949-2021) – Wayne began his journey at Health Sciences North in Sudbury on Wednesday October 20, 2021 at the age of 72 years.

He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Catherine Nashkawa (nee Rody). Dear father of Dwayne (Sandy) and Jennifer (Dan Clouatre). “ Pa” will be fondly remembered by his four grandchildren Marjorie, Bella, Lucas and Marissa.  Also survived by two sisters Donna (Jeff Jackson) and Rhonda (Bob Harrison). Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his mother Marjorie and a brother Warren.

Wayne will be missed by his many friends who shared his passion for classic cars – he especially loved sharing smiles and stories on Tuesday cruise nights in the summer in downtown North Bay. In the winter months, he could be found in the stands at the local rink, cheering on the Ice Boltz or the North Bay Trappers. He was their #1 fan.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 26th from 9 until 11 am followed by a short memorial service at the James Mason Recreational Centre in Saugeen. Internment to follow at Chippewa Hill cemetery.

As per current COVID-19 directives the total number of attendees is limited, social distancing requirements must be respected, and masks or face coverings are required inside the recreation centre.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be very grateful that donations be made to the Saugeen First Nation Food Bank or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
